On September 24, 2005 Golden Tiger Karate tested  Les Street for his black belt at the Northampton school.  The testing board consisted of  Sadan Nim Virgil DeGarmo, 3rd Dan and Nick Takacs, Cho Dan. Les successfully completed the rigorous examine both physically and mentally. He was supported by his wife, Barb,  friends and fellow students. The testing was a complex mixture of katas, self defense, one & three step sparring techniques, sparring (single and multiple), grappling, judo, wrist locks, weapons (2 bo katas, escrimas, nunchucks, sword) and breaking. Plus his knowledge about karate and its history and meanings. Grandmaster Nenow presented Les with his black belt and certificate at the Dynasty Fall Tournament.

Les was rewarded his 2nd Degree Black Belt on December 21, 2010 with his wife, Barb.  He is a great asset to Golden Tiger Karate with his teaching skills and willingness to help others with their techniques.  He enjoys working with swords and teasing his wife.  But, don't worry, she can hold her own.
