On October 1, 2005 Golden Tiger Karate tested Barb Street for her black belt at the Northampton school. The testing board consisted of Sadan Virgil DeGarmo, 3rd Dan and Les Street, Cho Dan. Barb successfully completed the rigorous examine both physically and mentally even though she is struggling with a wrist injury for months. The testing was a complex mixture of katas, self defense, one & three step sparring techniques, sparring (single and multiple), grappling, judo, wrist locks, weapons (2 bo katas, escrimas, nunchucks, sword) and breaking. Plus her knowledge about karate and its history and meanings. Grandmaster Nenow presented Barb with her black belt and certificate at the Dynasty Fall Tournament.

Barb was rewarded her 2nd Degree Black Belt on December 21, 2010 with her husband, Les, after testing on various techniques and katas.  Barb is great with the Little Tigers and Tigers.  When the Master is away, we know the school is in capable hands.  Her weapon specialty is the kamas.    She is a great asset to Golden Tiger Karate and is always willing to help out where ever and whenever necessary.  We are blessed to have her as an instructor and as a friend.
