Master Virgil DeGarmo
Head Instructor
4th Degree Black Belt
Grandmaster Robert Nenow, 10th Dan, of Dynasty International promoted Sir to 4th degree Master on October 14, 2007 and presented his certification at the Dynasty Fall Tournament in Lehighton, Pa. He is proud to be a part of the Dynasty family and thanks Grandmaster for his support and training.
Sir was inducted into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame on March 3, 2007 at the Marriott LaGuardia in New York City. His wife, Roni, and Cho Dan Mike Trippett and Marie Trippett accompanied him for the day. He received a Hall of Fame belt and certificate which are proudly hanging in the dojang. Stop in to see them. Sir is humbly honored to be chosen to receive this award.
Sadan Nim Virgil has preformed before Grandmasters and Masters from around the world. Though this has been a great thrill for him, his greatest reward comes from watching his students excel in the martial arts whether in class, at demos, or at tournaments while breaking, performing katas, weapons, sparring, and self-defense techniques. Karate is a means to an end not an end in itself. He continues to train under Grandmaster Robert Nenow, 10th Degree, of Dynasty International along his journey in the martial arts.
He enjoys teaching all ages. Sir is a certified cardio kickboxing instructor. He uses the cardio kickboxing time to tone and also train his students in self defense.
He is an active participant in Herald Biblical Theatrical Group and teaches Sunday school. Sir attended Global Awakening's School of Healing in Bethlehem, PA 2007 and applies his knowledge in his daily life. His 2008 highlight was a missionary trip to Brazil with Global Awakening where he was blessed by the love and generosity of the people. He drives school bus for Whitehall/Coplay School District retiring from Kraft Foods after 30 years. He served in the Navy from 1964 to 1968 with two tours in Viet Nam. Sir completed training at Global Awakening's School of Healing II in Harrisburg, PA in 2009. He and his wife are planning a mission trip to Brazil in 2010. He will celebrate 40 years of marriage with his wife, Roni, in 2010.
